Psalms 93

The Lord has reigned over the earth since its foundation, clothed in beauty and strength, and has established a stable world. The psalmist acknowledges God's eternal nature and throne. The power of the floods and the sea is contrasted with the greater power and wonder of the Lord. The psalmist affirms the trustworthiness of God's testimonies and the sanctity of His house.

1The Praise of a Canticle, of David himself. In the time before the Sabbath, when the earth was founded. The Lord has reigned. He has been clothed with beauty. The Lord has been clothed with strength, and he has girded himself. Yet he has also confirmed the world, which will not be moved2My throne is prepared from of old. You are from everlasting3The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice. The floods have lifted up their waves4before the noise of many waters. Wondrous are the surges of the sea; wondrous is the Lord on high5Your testimonies have been made exceedingly trustworthy. Sanctity befits your house, O Lord, with length of days
