Joel

A severe locust infestation has devastated the land, prompting a call to lament, mourn, and seek God's mercy through fasting and repentance. A day of darkness and destruction is near, brought by a powerful people, but the Lord offers a chance for the people to turn to him and avoid this fate. If the people repent, the Lord will bless them with abundance, restore the years lost to the locusts, and pour out his spirit upon them. Additionally, God will gather the nations to judge them for their treatment of Israel, specifically for scattering and selling the Israelites as slaves, and will punish the guilty nations, including Tyre, Sidon, and Palestine.

Chapter 1
A severe locust infestation has devastated the land, destroying crops and leaving nothing for the people or the animals to eat. The people are called to lament and mourn the loss, and the priests are instructed to sanctify a fast and call a solemn assembly to cry out to the Lord. The day of the Lord is near, bringing destruction from the Almighty, and the people are warned to repent and seek God's mercy. The land is barren, the animals are suffering, and the people are left to cry out to the Lord for relief.
Chapter 2
A day of darkness and gloom is coming, a day of the Lord, when a great and strong people will bring destruction, leaving the land desolate. The people will be in pain and the earth will quake before them. The Lord will utter his voice before his army, and the day will be great and terrible. The Lord calls for the people to turn to him with fasting, weeping, and mourning, and to rend their hearts, for he is gracious and merciful. If the people repent, the Lord will bless them with abundance and remove the northern army that threatens them. The Lord will restore the years that the locusts have eaten and pour out his spirit upon all flesh, and those who call on his name will be delivered.
Chapter 3
God will gather all nations in the valley of Jehoshaphat to judge them for their treatment of Israel, specifically for scattering and selling the Israelites as slaves. The nations, including Tyre, Sidon, and Palestine, will be punished for their actions, and their children will be sold
